I have been issued “Regalia First” credit card where as I applied for “Diners Club ClubMiles” credit card. Details of the application process is given below.
I (do not hold any HDFC account) recently applied for a credit card through “https://www.hdfcbankdinersclub.com/international-credit-cards” website. Next day I got a call regarding the documents collection and process was done. The HDFC bank representative(collected my documents) didn’t even ask me for the type of card I am applying for. Still I have mentioned “Diners Club Premium/ClubMiles” or “Regalia” as my preference.
Then I got a call from another HDFC representative regarding some document related issues. Even here I have asked for the type of card being processed and came to know that its “Regalia First”, which I didn’t approve (because this is not I even applied for). Upon mentioning “Diners Club Premium” they asked me if I am ok with “Diners ClubMiles”. I gave approval for the same.
There seems to be huge flaw in the processing of credit cards for non-HDFC customers. I feel like there is no priority in customers choice in opting their card.
I did not activate the “Regalia First” card yet as I feel I deserve a better card.
