Charges at Lifelline Medicare Hospital, Sunder Nagar, Goregaon West

I had hospitalised my 73 year old aunt on 04/06/2019 around 10:30pm @Lifelline Medicare Hospital for low sugar. She was given glucose and the next day around 05/06/2019 by 5pm had started the discharge formality. It took more than two hours for them to wind this up and around 07:30 pm she was discharged. However the charges are taken for 48 hours whereas she was not in the hospital for even 24 hours. That’s the rule of the hospital it seems. The amount came to around 22k just because these guys charge for 48 hours as per their norm. Is this really fair?? The other report and medicine charges were separately taken. For a glucose to be given we spend around 27k overall..Why are we penalised like this? Where would poor people who are already financially burdened along with the sickness an added burden run to? I don’t know why this is treated like a luxury charge from patients family. Please do something about this. There has to be something more stringent and I request the Health Ministry to look into this as well. This is really torturous emotionally and financially too especially when there are no mediclaim / insurance.
