Complaint Regarding Defective Hinges of HP Laptop

Complaint Regarding Defective Hinges of HP Laptop

I purchased an HP laptop for approximately ?65,000. However, after just one year of use, the hinges started deteriorating, causing damage to the laptop’s body. I reported this issue to HP customer care, explaining that the faulty hinges led to the body cracking. Instead of addressing the manufacturing defect, HP quoted ?22,000 for a body replacement.
My primary grievance is that the damage occurred due to poor-quality hinges and body materials used by HP. Since I paid a significant amount for this laptop, it is HP’s responsibility to repair or replace the defective parts without additional charges.
This practice by a reputed US-based company of selling substandard products and then charging exorbitant fees for repairs amounts to unfair trade practices and mis-selling to Indian consumers. I have come across more than 100 similar complaints on HP’s portal regarding the same issue, indicating a widespread defect.
I, therefore, request you to:
Direct HP to replace the defective hinges and body of my laptop at no extra cost.
Conduct an investigation into HP’s product quality and business practices to prevent further exploitation of consumers.
