I had ordered a Moto G6 through amazon.in on 5th june 2018. It got delivered to me on 10th june 2018. On the 27th of june it shut down mysteriously and could not be switched on. The set was first taken to a service station in sonipat where they could not repair the set due to lack of equipment. The set was then taken to Service and Communication Solutions-SCS Address- A-180, Sukhdev Nagar Market, Kotla Mubarakpur, Bhishma Pitamah Marg, Defence Colony, New Delhi.
Both service centres put down the problem to “water damage” which is completely ludicrous since the phone was not taken anywhere near any liquid. While at the service station I noticed that almost all customers were told that their phone had sustained “water damage” which sounds ridiculous to say the least. Motorola is resorting to a systematic scam to extract money from unsuspecting customers by putting down problems created by poor quality manufacturing defects to “water damage”. The reason for this is the fact that water damage is not covered in warranty. The service station has been harassing me for the last few weeks. They said that the phone will be repaired till 2nd August 2018 and has not been repaired still. They have also put the estimated cost of repairs at Rs 7800, which is outrageous since it is very obvious that the phone has serious manufacturing defects.. Motorola is duping customers into buying substandard phones and then extracting a fat sum within weeks at the pretext of “water damage”since it is not covered in warranty.
This duplicious behaviour and harassment of customers will be brought to the notice of Consumer Court.
Kindly revert so that as an affected customer, I could take further steps.
