I along with my frnds went to Kerala for summer class. The incident took place on 15/06/2018(Friday). On 15th afternoon around 2pm, I booked uber pool in the uber app using my smartphone. The pick up location was at University road near SLS, CUSAT and the drop location which I entered was hill palace museum which is 13 km away from the starting point and located at thiruvankulam. Myself and my friend was picked up by mr.sxxxxh(the driver) in Ford Figo aspire. I cannot remember the vechile registeration number. Then the journey commenced and after a short time another passenger was picked up and was droped at Kakkanad. After the co-passenger’s drop, my uber app showed that we have arrived at the destination yet it was nearly 8 km away. The driver said there must be some problem with the uber app, as even his mobile showed the same. And then he asked us to get down and pay the fare which was 95rs. We were forcefully charged RS.95 and we dint even got dropped in the correct destination. The estimate which first showed to hill palace museum is itself was only RS.111. During this, I asked the driver for customer care number as I couldn’t find it anywhere in the uber app. He said he won’t give his superiors number and asked me to check in the app itself. I checked it as it was my first time using the app and I couldn’t find it. So I showed it to him stating that there was no contact number or customer care number was provided. Then he took my phone and instead of searching for the number, he rated himself 5 stars and gave my mobile back and asked us to pay and get out. I searched in Google for customer care or complaint number but the driver wasn’t patience enough. He was rude and dint provide us with proper information and help and said it wasn’t his responsibility. Cause of this, we were forced to get down at the wrong destination 8 km away from it. We were left off on the street of a place where we don’t even know the native language and due to the stress caused by it, we went to the place back where we were accomodated. After the incident, I changed the driver’s rating in the uber app and made a complaint to them. I wish this issue is addressed and no one else faces such and issue again and help us in whatever way the concerned authority seems fit.
