I had booked an Air India flight AI-105 from New Delhi to Newark Liberty International Airport for my son for travel date 13 August 2021 and paid Rs. 93783. We received a message on 2nd August 2021 that flight has been postponed to 3rd of September. Since my son’s classes in US were to start from 23rd August 2021, we had to cancel our booking and were assured that since flight was postponed by the airline, we will receive 100% refund. Our Refund Application dated 2nd August 2021. Since that day we are receiving same message on Makemytrip sight that “Your refund is subject to airline approval”. Initially we were assured that refund will be credited in our credit card within one month. It has been almost two months and now Makemytrip site is informing that “Expect refund by 29 jan”.
This is really frustrating. First of all we had to pay Rs. 1.5 Lakh to other airline to book the ticket at the last moment. We had to arrange for funds for that we are paying heavy interest. Now our refund is not been given and we are being asked to wait for another four months. Does an Airline take six months for refund for its own mistake.
kindly take strict action and help us get our refund and extra expenses paid to other airline and interest being paid by us for extra expenditure made by us. In case we do not get any response from Makemytrip or Air India, we will be forced to take legal action against both.
