Post retirement, as I wanted to continue with my active life, I was looking for a suitable job mainly in Kolkata where I reside. I got myself registered with M/s ADS HR Consultancy Private Limited in August, 2017 for a period of six months with the hope that they would provide me with suitable job opportunities and arrange interviews with the employers. I was also informed that the registration fee (Rs 2000/-) would be refunded if they failed to arrange any interview.
Unfortunately, despite my repeated follow ups with Mr Axxxxa Sxxxxxr, Chief Executive, I did not get a single interview call during the whole registration period. I could visit ADS office next in August 2018, well after the expiry of my registration period. I requested Ms Axxxxa, a Senior Executive, to arrange refund of my registration fee. She assured me of the refund and advised me to send a mail claiming the refund to the concerned person in her office. I sent a mail to the given email address accordingly. On getting no response even after two months, I was advised by her to write to their legal department. I wrote to the legal cell but there wasn’t any response either.
On repeated follow ups with Ms Axxxxxxa, finally on 27th November, 2018 she gave me a cheque for Rs 2000/- of an outstation branch of Axis Bank. The cheque bounced as the account had been closed and a penalty of Rs 177/- was debited from my account. I informed Ms Axxxxa and others in the office of the same, but till date they never tried to make the payment.
Although the amount in stake is not very high, I want them to know that issuing invalid cheque is a criminal offence and they should be fined suitably for all the harassment I was made to undergo.
