I booked a zoomcar 2 days back and fortunately the trip was good for the duration we had the car – even though the condition they provided the car was pretty bad and dirty and at a very secluded parking location. When we returned the car, there were no damages apart from the minor scratches which we had given proof of in while picking up the car itself in morning inspection.
Now, zoomcar is charging us 12000 Rs (minus 2k for liability reversal) citing severe damages to rear view and passenger side door. When we countered the said charges with more photos and multiple customer support calls, they reduced the charges for rear view stating that wrong inspection was there and now the updated damage charges are 8000rs. We have uploaded more photos as proof stating that the condition was totally undamaged and we are even unaware of what they’re charging us for – we called out that the parking location itself was very shady with no lights and looked like a place where broken cars were kept or stranded off. Now they’re levying the fraudulent charges even when we have given them the proof of photos after we dropped off where they are saying that post our drop off, they inspected and found the damages (our drop was 11.30 pm). How is damages after our drop off being put as our responsibility? I’m really disappointed and angered and do not know what to do with these guys bothering me for something we didn’t even do and have proofs for the same. I really should have booked some other car rental service because now I’m reading all these posts where people have dealt with similar conditions of fraud by zoomcar. If someone can help me out here it’ll be really grateful.
